Clendon Mason teachers fear mass COVID infections, after one student tests positive

Concerns and frustrations have grown among staff at the Clendon Mason Memorial Secondary School, following news that a form 4 student at the institution has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The teachers allege that health and education authorities are pussyfooting, therefor placing their health and lives at risk.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is seeking the assistance of the general public in identifying a young female whose body was discovered today, January 23, 2021, at Pigeon Island, Gros Islet. Anyone who has a family member, loved one, or person known to them, who has been missing for about one week, and has failed to make a report to the police, is asked to contact the Gros Islet Police Station at 456-3830, or the Police Emergency Line. LUCELEC CREDIT RATING DOWNGRADED

Saint Lucia’s only electricity supplier LUCELEC is not immune to the COVID-19 induced economic fallout. Regional credit rating agency CariCRIS has downgraded LUCELEC’s credit rating. CariCRIS cited reduced energy consumption and outstanding debt from major customers like the Saint Lucia government for the “1-notch” downgrade. LUCELEC executives, anticipating improved economic prospects this year, say their expecting to rebound from the CariCRIS credit rating downgrade.
