WHY WON’T THE BRITISH CROWN/GOV’T SAY SORRY FOR ROLE IN SLAVE TRADE

Last November, Prince Charles referred to the transatlantic slavery as, “…an appalling atrocity…” In March his son, Prince William concurred slavery was “…abhorrent and should never have happened…” Both Monarchs were addressing former Caribbean colonies when they condemned the slave trade but, neither apologized for Britain’s involvement. So, why won’t the former colonizers say sorry? Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ernest Hilaire believes an unreserved apology from the British would further justify reparation demands.
