The first round of voting to elect the next ICC chairman ended in a stalemate between Imran Khwaja of Singapore and Greg Barclay of New Zealand. Two more rounds of voting will ensue in order to arrive at the requisite numbers to be the next chairman. The winner needs a two thirds majority, 11 out of the 16 eligible votes to be cast by the directors sitting on the ICC Board.  Among the 16 voters, India, England, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ireland and Malaysia are thought to be supporting Barclay of New Zealand. On the other hand Pakistan, Zimbawe, Sri Lanka and Singapore are favoring the other side. The entire process is expected to be completed by December 2nd, and by then the ICC is expected to have a new chairman. Should all three rounds end up in stalemates, Khwaja will remain in the position until July 2021.
