Local agriculturalist, Cuthbert Philips have called for a joint approach between the farmers and the Ministry of Health in assisting farmers to address the problem of Amblyomma Tick or the Tropical Bond Tick in Saint Lucia. Cuthbert Philips says that the programme by the Ministry of Health to eradicate the tick on the island in years ago became very costly for farmers, hence the reappearance of the Amblyomma Tick . The pest which has been found to be a major reservoir of viral livestock diseases resurfaced just ahead of the festive season. Senior News Correspondent Cecile Actille reports.
