In the last three meetings of the House of Assembly the Micoud South Seat, also reserved for Opposition Leader Allen Chastanet, has been vacant. United Workers Party officials have justified the Opposition Leader’s conspicuous absence to suggest Mr. Chastanet is on a ‘well deserved’ vacation after serving as Prime Minister and leading a failed reelection campaign. Well, MBC Prime got reaction from Micoud South voters who shared their views on the so far nonexistent representation in Parliament.

PRIME MINISTER EXPOSES FINDINGS IN UNPUBLISHED ST JUDE AUDIT

Did the former Chastanet led United Workers Party Administration squander an opportunity to transfer St Jude Hospital operations to more suitable accommodations? Prime Minister Philip J Pierre on September 14 revealed a taxpayer funded EC $900, 000 St Jude audit commissioned by the former Administration confirmed the now abandoned East Wing structure was in fact suitable for hospital operations. According to the Prime Minister the audit, which has been kept under wraps since it was completed in 2018, revealed St. Jude hospital operations could have been transferred to the East Wing within a 12 month period. The cost of East Wing renovations was estimated at under EC $30 million dollars. However, the Chastanet Administration opted to forgo that option to build a completed new structure which has cost taxpayers well over EC $115 million dollars.
