Will the United Workers Party be sending somebody new to contest the Castries South seat come 2021? Well, MBC Prime’s Miguel Fevrier has been asking the question amid rumor that Castries Mayor Peterson Francis has been tipped to be the UWP’s contender for the constituency at the next general election. Peterson Francis was the party’s Castries Central candidate in 2016 until a few weeks prior to the poll when he stepped down to allow Sarah Flood –Beaubrun to successfully run. The Castries South seat is currently occupied by Dr. Ernest Hilaire who reacted to the speculation.

Relatives of a two year old girl whose death is being investigated as a “suspicious” was said to be in the care of a man alleged to be her father. The child was rushed to St. Jude hospital on Tuesday February 9th after she collapsed at a home at Anse Ger, Desruisseaux.
