SURGING COVID CASES FORCES HEALTH MINISTRY TO FIND MORE BED SPACE

The COVID-19 pandemic has sent more than 1450 people to the Respiratory Hospital since February. The number of active COVID positive infections recorded during another spike in cases exceeds 2300. The Respiratory Hospital can hold a maximum of 129 patients. The deadly delta surge currently sweeping Saint Lucia has prompted the Health Ministry to prepare for the possibility of an influx of Respiratory Hospital admissions.
