The Saint Lucia Rugby Football Union held its first public event since the COVID-19 lockdown on Sunday 19th July at the Vigie Beach. The event came hot on the heels following which the full executive was elected at a specially arranged meeting. Thus the full executive is as follows:
- Roger Butcher – President
- Mario Chicot – Vice President
- Kisha Edgar – Secretary
- Geema Inglis – Treasurer
- Saeed James – PRO
Eight teams registered for the first ever Carnival 3s Beach Rugby Tournament. Rogues fielded three teams with the others coming from Whiptail Warriors, Rollers, Young Stars – young Under19 team from the Boys Training Centre, Loose Ones and Green Lanterns. The event progressed to the semi finals, which saw Rogues One defeating Rouges Three 4 – 2 and Rogues Two 6 – 4. In the ensuing final, Rouges One defeated Rouge 2 – 1 to emerge winners. Young Stars placed third. The day’s event was officiated by Chantal John, Wayne Pantor, Ted Felicien and John Garner. The Saint Lucia Football Rugby Union would like to thank all participants and supporters who turned out to make the activity a success, and looks forward to seeing everyone at their next activity scheduled for 2nd August 2020.
