GROS ISLET BUS PRESIDENT SAYS THEY WANT FARE INCREASE

 

As minibus operators around the island await word on whether they will receive a fare increase or a rebate, the President of the Gros Islet Minibus Operators Association says his members want an increase. President of the National Council on Public Transport, Godfrey Ferdinand in June, told the media that a proposal for both a rebate and increase would be presented to Transport Minister Guy Joseph on June 4. To date, there has been no determination as to what bus operators are to receive, but if given a choice, Route 1A Gros Islet bus drivers want an increase.

CDC Commercial tenants petition government for rent waivers.

Commercial Tenants of both the Jeremie Street, Darling Road and Jn Baptiste Street CDC’s have petitioned the government for a break on monthly rental payments in light of the economic impact from suspensions of business as a result of the coronavirus.
