Police Commissioner says: Don’t harbour quarantine escapees

Acting Police Commissioner Milton Desir is advising the public to not harbour individuals who have escaped from the quarantine facility.

This comes following the circulation of videos depicting and individual, with bags in hand, escaping the Starfish Hotel at Rodney Bay.

A l’express des isles vessel arrived at Port Castries Friday afternoon, with returning Saint Lucians from Guadeloupe, Dominica and Martinique.

They have been placed in quarantine at the Royalton owned Starfish.

The Acting Commissioner spoke with Senior Correspondent Miguel Fevrier via telephone at about 1:00pm

Police investigators have begun their search for suspects involved in the killing of Melvin “Flying” Charles. On Saturday [December 19] Charles was found naked and unresponsive inside of a mini bus parked along the Odsan highway. The homicide victim played on the national basketball team in the 1980s before he took up coaching at the St. Mary’s College Secondary School. Melvin Charles also earned a living as a bus driver on the Castries, La Clery route at the time of his death.
