Prime Minister and Finance Minister Philip J Pierre delivered his maiden policy statement on the 2022/23 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure in the House of Assembly on March 29. Pierre’s XCD $1.8 billion dollar budget however, has come under Opposition scrutiny. The United Workers Party accuses the Pierre Administration of double standards for seeking loans to finance the government’s agenda. Prime Minister Pierre maintains his budget is designed to improve livelihoods and support Saint Lucia homes and businesses.
