Agriculture Minister Ezechiel Joseph on Monday provided further confirmation to the media that the meat processing facility in the south will be demolished. Opened in 2015, the abattoir was a gift to Saint Lucia from the Government of Taiwan which operated as a central marketing and processing plant, which will create a marketing network to supply hotels, supermarkets and community based distribution outlets. But as we learn in this Miguel Fevrier report, the Agriculture Minister disclosed that DSH will be rebuilding the facility elsewhere.
