This year the government pocketed more than $28 million dollars from the sale of Saint Lucian citizenships via the Citizenship by Investment Program. Passport sale revenue has declined when compared to the $60 million netted in 2019. Chinese nationals again account for the majority of 2020’s granted citizenships. CIP certified citizens are eligible to apply for a Saint Lucian passport which boasts visa free access to more than 146 countries around the world.

Chartered Accountant and Partner at Grant Thornton Windward Islands, Richard Peterkin, says the immediate future looks bleak for both the public sector.
