NAT’L VACCINATION RATE REACHES 20% AFTER EIGHT MONTHS

Saint Lucia is inching closer to the recommended population immunity target of 60%. After eight months since the first COVID-19 jabs were administered back in February, the Health Ministry has reported about 20% of the population are fully vaccinated against the virus that causes COVID-19 infections. Health authorities are encouraged by the notable uptake in the local vaccination rate however; emerging COVID variants could undo that progress unless more people come out to take the jabs.
