A busy day for Team Saint Lucia in Cali-Valle, Colombia, as competition continues at the inaugural Junior Pan Am Games.
Saint Lucia began its preliminary match play in 3×3 basketball on Thursday, with the men losing to Mexico in Group D.
Luc Chevrier also took to the water for the men’s sailing event.
But the big news coming out of the Games, the Men’s 400m semifinals in track and field, and Saint Lucia’s Michael Joseph competing for the cerulean blue.
The young man from Gros Islet not only won his heat and made the final of his event, he also reset a national junior record that had lasted for 30 years, set by Ivan Jean Marie way back in 1991.
Joseph ran 46.53 seconds to improve the record by one hundredth of a second.
Here’s how it all went down at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium.
