Man caught masturbating at CDC buildings; residents renew calls for night-time security presence

Residents of the Darling Road CDC Buildings say their calls for the reinstatement of night-time security have gone ignored.
However another call is being made after a man was spotted masturbating in the alleyway of one of the buildings.

The Prime Minister’s victory lap following the resumption of United States sponsored assistance to the Royal Saint Lucia Police, still under Leahy Law sanctions, has been tempered by the Police Welfare Association. During his July 5 address to the nation, the Prime Minister declared the IMPACS saga has been “resolved”. His utterances appear to contradict the US Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean who on June 18 confirmed the Leahy sanction are still in place and Saint Lucia’s chief prosecutor is still expected to address the conclusions in the IMPACS report. The PWA says they expect the Prime Minister to correct the record.

Saint Lucia’s Director of Public Prosecutions was once again in the crosshairs of the Police Welfare Association. In the 10 years since the infamous Operation Restore Confidence police led anticrime crackdown, no police officer involved in the killings [deemed to be unlawful] has been charged. The implicated police officers however, have been denied promotions pending a long awaited decision from the DPP’s office. POLICE CHARGE CATTLE FARMER

Authorities are cracking down on local cattle farmers whose grazing animals threaten vehicular traffic along major roadways. One man has been charged and two of his cows impounded after police received complaints of stray animals disrupting traffic. The accused however, claims he was scapegoated because of his political views.
