The Opposition Saint Lucia Labour Party has written to the Prime Minister to cite a case of what they say has been a pattern of (quote) “below the line debt being incurred by the government without Parliamentary Approval. And in particular, the SLP points to a direct award of a contract to Fresh Start Construction Company Limited. The company has been contracted to undertake a number of capital projects on island since the UWP assumed office in 2016.

Remand prisoners to vote for first time in history.

According to the MBC Prime sources at the Bordelaise Correctional Facility, the remand population will cast their ballot at the upcoming general elections. Although the Government of Saint Lucia has not made provisions to facilitate the process, well-placed sources indicate come that fateful day, 328 inmates that make up the remand population will be able to exercise their constitutional right.
