The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is seeking the assistance of the general public in identifying a young female whose body was discovered today, January 23, 2021, at Pigeon Island, Gros Islet. Anyone who has a family member, loved one, or person known to them, who has been missing for about one week, and has failed to make a report to the police, is asked to contact the Gros Islet Police Station at 456-3830, or the Police Emergency Line. Anyone with information regarding her possible identity can do so anonymously via telephone, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s social media platforms or email publicrelations.rslpf@gmail.com.

LUCELEC CREDIT RATING DOWNGRADED

Saint Lucia’s only electricity supplier LUCELEC is not immune to the COVID-19 induced economic fallout. Regional credit rating agency CariCRIS has downgraded LUCELEC’s credit rating. CariCRIS cited reduced energy consumption and outstanding debt from major customers like the Saint Lucia government for the “1-notch” downgrade. LUCELEC executives, anticipating improved economic prospects this year, say their expecting to rebound from the CariCRIS credit rating downgrade.
