The Saint Lucia Civil Service Association has shot down speculation of the union’s involvement in Wednesday’s island-wide blackout. However, Union’s General Secretary has put the Labour Tribunal on blast for what he says is protraction in delivering a decision on an ongoing dispute. The CSA and the island’s lone electricity supplier has been locking horns for a while now over a grade structure dispute, which has resulted in various forms of industrial action by those employees over the last few months.
