Motorists are paying more to fuel up but, according to Prime Minister and Finance Minister Philip J Pierre, the impact of soaring crude oil prices on the international market has been cushioned by the government’s decision to absorb import costs. Although retail gas and diesel prices at the pump have jumped, without Prime Minister Pierre’s intervention motorists would have been paying more than $18 per liter.
