In 2018 the Government of Saint Lucia extended support to an agreement which set guidelines for access to information on environmental issues. The accord engaged countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, with the hope of increasing public access to information on environmental affairs. Support for the Escazu agreement has been extended by the GOSL once again, ahead of the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference, known as COP 26.
