LOCAL GOVT MINISTER:  NO RIFT WITH MAYOR

 

Amid reports that a rift exists between them, local government minister senator Fortuna Belrose says she has no beef with Castries mayor Peterson Francis. The decision to conduct a review of the operations at the CCC in July, resulted in assertions that moves were afoot get rid of mayor Francis. Now while both Prime Minister Allen Chastanet and local government PS Donavan Williams expressed their satisfaction with Francis’ performance, MBC’s senior news correspondent for political affairs Miguel Fevrier questioned the minister on a statement last week which appeared to suggest the contrary.

CDC Commercial tenants petition government for rent waivers.

Commercial Tenants of both the Jeremie Street, Darling Road and Jn Baptiste Street CDC’s have petitioned the government for a break on monthly rental payments in light of the economic impact from suspensions of business as a result of the coronavirus.
