Chief Medical Officer Sharon Belmar-George has disclosed Aux Lyon is the “common link” in seven recent COVID-19 infections. Dennery North MP Shawn Edward says he is encouraging his constituents to work with the authorities as they continue efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

HILAIRE ORDERED TO APPEAR IN COURT OVER LUXURY VEHICLE ROW

The back and forth over alleged paper work discrepancies between the Customs and Excise Department and Castries South MP Dr. Ernest Hilaire continue to unfold. A new document coming to light [this week] is a Court summons obtained by MBC Prime which appears to order the Castries South MP to appear before a Magistrate next January. The Customs Department led by Acting Comptroller Peter Chicot has accused Dr. Hilaire, a former High Commissioner to the UK, of “failing to comply with a lawful order”. Dr. Hilaire through his legal team has refuted the charges and has threatened to take legal action of their own – accusing the Customs boss of abusing his authority.SHOW LESS

PM ATTEMPTS TO CLARIFY “NO MONEY” COMMENTS

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet last Thursday [October 15] phoned in to Real FM’s News Spin talk show in an attempt to clear the air over his recent comments on the country’s economic situation. During an October 11 national address the Prime Minister revealed the government has “no more money” to continue supporting income support programs. His comments have made regional headlines and have been talking points for two Caribbean Prime Ministers. Prime Minister Chastanet asserted that his “no more money” comments may have been misconstrued.
