Fire Service Association Chairman says again: Governments don’t care

As MBC Prime correctly reported Monday, the Allen Chastanet Administration failed to meet a deadline set by the Fire Service Association.

That was, to present a Cabinet conclusion by last Friday, March 29th, confirming 4 promises on which the firemen’s return to work was hinged.

Shane Felix confirmed that the FSA is yet to hear from the government in response to their letter.

The first of 5 deadlines was Friday.

Felix points out that the oversight committee was formed to look into the implementation of recommendations coming out of the host of reports on operations at the Fire Service and the items for which implementation timelines were given for, do not amount to reinventing the wheel – they already exist within the public service.

Moments before the association met with Minister in the Ministry of the Public Service Ubaldus Raymond, we spoke with Shane Felix

Felix says Raymond reached out to the organization for a sit-down.

On Thursday, the FSA meets with the Government’s Negotiating Team.
