West Indies fast bowling legend Sir Curtly Ambrose has bemoaned the lack of an opportunity to be part of the current Cricket West Indies set up in any type of capacity. At one time, Ambrose served as a bowling consultant and was subsequently replaced by Roddy Estwick. According to the legendary cricketer, his is not one of lack of trying as he has done enough courses to improve on his resume to the extent that he has now achieved Level Three Coaching certification from a program organized by Cricket West Indies – CWI. He further went on to say that since he was sacked, he has done quite a bit on his own in working with individual pacers. However, coaching is not the only facet of West Indies cricket that Ambrose has set his sights on as he has sought to be a regional selector. According to him, he threw his hat in the ring to become a selector and was interviewed by Vice President Kishore Shallow and Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams and to date has not received any feedback. As far as he is concerned whether it is coaching or being a selector, he just wants to help West Indies cricket go forward as he is always ready and willing to do so.
