According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sharon Belmar-George a recently detected COVID variant has triggered new outbreaks in regions monitored by the World Health Organization. Saint Lucia’s northern neighbor, Martinique, is also presently managing more than 10,000 COVID cases. The CMO says compliance with government protocols and vaccination is the island’s best defense against the threat of another COVID outbreak.
