Choiseul residents won’t have to make the 30 minute drive to Vieux-Fort just to go grocery shopping. After years of negotiating with local businessman Bryan Daher, regional supermarket giant Massy Stores has set up shop in the south western constituency. Mr. Daher credited an unlikely source for convincing Massy Stores management to make a new home in Choiseul.

TRANSPORT MIN. SAYS BUS FARE INCREASES UP FOR DISCUSSION

Among the options being considered by the Transport Ministry to appease the island’s minibus drivers is an increase in bus fares. Minibus owners and drivers are earning less due to COVID-19 protocols which has for the last six months limited passenger loads. Transport Minister Guy Joseph on Tuesday said the proposed bus fare increases, if implemented, would be for a temporary period.
