The Saint Lucia Planned Parenthood Association says St. Lucia faces a huge challenge where the responsibility of parents are placed in the hands of older siblings. The Acting Executive Director, of the Parenthood Association, Geralda Bray believes that this may put both the sibling with the responsibilities of an adult and the younger child at risk. Geralda Bray made the comments following a viral video in which a female is seen beating and dragging her much younger sibling out of a residence onto a road. US EASE SANCTIONS ON SAINT LUCIA POLICE FORCE

The United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean on June 18 announced the State Department has agreed to modify the Leahy Law sanctions currently imposed on the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. Now, select police units will regain access to US funded assistance eight years after the sanctions were handed down as a consequence of alleged extrajudicial killings by police officers during the infamous Operation Restore Confidence anti-crime initiative back in 2010/11.
