The continued detection of Monkey pox cases has prompted a reexamination of the characteristics and manner of spread of the infectious disease. In a recent advisory, one international health agency highlighted the importance of mask wearing as a protective measure. Days later, the instruction was quietly withdrawn, a decision which may have achieved an effect opposite to the intended goal.
