Courts St. Lucia won the battle for sales on Black Friday this year, despite a drop in deals available to its customers last year. After receiving feedback from shoppers last year, the retail store boasted about its best prices in its products that were available to customers in 2018. Courts opened at the stroke of midnight. Courts Marisule, Vieux Fort and Castries remained open for 24 hours Friday. Senior News Correspondent Cecile Actille was there and filed this report.

US EASE SANCTIONS ON SAINT LUCIA POLICE FORCE

The United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean on June 18 announced the State Department has agreed to modify the Leahy Law sanctions currently imposed on the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. Now, select police units will regain access to US funded assistance eight years after the sanctions were handed down as a consequence of alleged extrajudicial killings by police officers during the infamous Operation Restore Confidence anti-crime initiative back in 2010/11.
