The Big Players Football Club has made yet another donation to members of the public. Earlier in the year, the football club from the community of Marchand made donations to a number of residents who had fallen on difficult times. This time around, the first division team donated hampers to the St. Lucy’s Home, Marian Home and the Adelaide’s Home for the Elderly.
According to the Public Relations Officer of Big Players Mr. Jordan Alleyne, “this gesture is in keeping with the high level of social responsibility interred within the bosom of the players and executive of the club and concerned members of the community.” He added:
A special thank you goes out to honorable Philip J Pierre, Fortuna Belrose, Massy Stores and members of the Executive who contributed. These members include Desmond Sydney, Nigel “Kong” Francis, Alena, Anthony, Mr. Jordan, Jason and Pennie.
The entities in receipt of these generous donations were all from the Castries East constituency the home of the football club. Though they are known for their toughness on the playing field, Big Players Football Club continues to show that they are one of the most philanthropic sports organizations on the island.
