Former Head of Banking, MAURICIA THOMAS-FRANCIS, told a gathering at a recent Small Business Awards, that she hopes very soon that the legalization of ganja, goes into full effect in the house of Parliament. Mauricia Thomas-Francis says while Saint Lucia awaits the bill to pass in the house, small business entrepreneurs should capitalize on the opportunity. US EASE SANCTIONS ON SAINT LUCIA POLICE FORCE

The United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean on June 18 announced the State Department has agreed to modify the Leahy Law sanctions currently imposed on the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. Now, select police units will regain access to US funded assistance eight years after the sanctions were handed down as a consequence of alleged extrajudicial killings by police officers during the infamous Operation Restore Confidence anti-crime initiative back in 2010/11.
