The celebration of the impact of a well loved fruit on national development has sprouted further dialogue on the need for expanding national agro processing activity. Dubbed the Banana festival, the event incorporated culinary, artistic and informative displays, featuring the named fruit. According to one local producer, greater opportunities for processing and packaging local produce need to be made available.
