ARETHA FRANKLIN HAS DIED AT AGE 76

Aretha Franklin, ‘The Queen of Soul’ passed away earlier today at the age of 76. Franklin died at approximately 9:50am at her home in Detroit, while being surrounded by family and loved ones.

Her death was reportedly due to pancreatic cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2010.However, she had been recently placed in hospice care after being gravely ill. Franklin had dealt with undisclosed health issues that had kept her offstage in recent months. In March of 2018, she canceled a pair of scheduled concerts due to what her management described as doctor’s orders.

She had 44 Grammy nominations, countless fans and a voice many called the greatest of all time with great hits like ‘RESPECT’ and ‘(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. Earlier today, fans gathered at Aretha Franklin’s star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame to pay their respects to the singer. Her timeless music will definitely be missed.
