The COVID-19 pandemic not only threatens public health but apparently the upcoming General Elections could also be rescheduled as a consequence. The Prime Minister during an appearance on a local radio show Monday night revealed he’s preoccupied with the COVID-19 crisis and the elections – constitutionally due this year he says, he’s “putting to the side”. Former Senate president and Labour Party chair Claudius Francis has rubbished election delay notions – warning “there will be hell to pay” if the Chastanet Administration “goes against the Constitution”.

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet as finally, (albeit inadvertently) conceded that the last Labour Party Administration did not impose a hidden $6.60 cent charge per gallon of gasoline – the basis of a 2015 protest march by the then opposition. And this was done when the Prime Minister simply presented the facts, surrounding the pass through mechanism.
